At Practical Zen, our mission is to make mindfulness and meditation accessible, clear, and grounded. We offer a practical approach to a spiritual practice. Our goal is to help you reconnect body & mind with the present moment. Guided by a vision that balances scientific insight with the wisdom of Zen philosophy. Just the practical tools your body and mind already know how to use, rebuilt on evidence, taught with care, and designed for real life.

What practical-zen is, and isn’t.

We teach breathwork, meditation, and movement in line with science and heart: with evidence, clear language, and respect for how your nervous system actually works. Studies from Harvard Medical School confirm that mindfulness and meditation practices activate areas of the brain associated with attention, emotion regulation, and self-awareness. And yet, we don’t need incense, robes or fuss to feel these benefits. That’s where Practical Zen comes in.

To help you reconnect body & mind with the present moment. Through mindfulness, breathwork, and meditation, we offer tools to improve sleep, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience. Giving us the strength to stop avoidinging life’s challenges, and meeting them with clarity and calm.

Introduction to Zen Meditation (3-month course)

In this course, you’ll learn the essentials of Zen meditation, walking meditation, and core Zen teachings. Zen meditation has been shown to strengthen attention, reduce anxiety and improve emotional resilience. By the end, you’ll not only have a steady home practice, but also feel confident joining Zen groups anywhere in the world. Because we just need to learn how to ‘sit with it’.

Practical Zen is founded by Celine, combining a background in biomedical sciences and psychology with years of experience in movement, coaching, and Zen practice. What began as a personal search for tools that actually worked (especially while living with autoimmune disease) has grown into something to share with others.

This is not about expertise, but about practice. Walking the path, continuing to learn, and creating space for others who are looking for something similar: whether that’s connection, clarity, or simply a moment to pause in this overwhelming world.
